  • 10:55 AM – 11:00 AM – Programme director Given welcomes everyone

 

⏳ 11:00 AM – BRIDE’S INTRODUCTION & TRADITIONAL WELCOMING (30 min)

  • 11:00 AM – The bride is introduced and seated by the Rakgadi elder women

  • 11:10 AM – Blessings and words of wisdom are given to the bride 

  • 11:20 AM – Bride is officially welcomed with a traditional ceremony

 

⏳ 11:30 AM – OFFICIAL WELCOMING OF THE BRIDE (45 min)

  • 11:30 AM – The bride’s aunt gives a speech of gratitude (Mamkhulu Sombu)

  • 11:40 AM – The groom’s aunt welcomes the bride into the family

  • 11:50 AM – Traditional marriage advice and teachings are shared

  • 12:10 PM – The elder women offer prayers and guidance for the new bride

 

⏳ 12:15 PM – GIFT PRESENTATION (40 min)

  • 12:15 PM – Traditional gifts are exchanged as a symbol of union

  • 12:25 PM – Presentation of gifts from the groom’s family to the bride

  • 12:35 PM – Explanation of the significance of the gifts

  • 12:45 PM – Gifts are distributed among the family and elders

 

⏳ 12:55 PM – MEAL & CELEBRATION (60 min)

  • 12:55 PM – Traditional meals are served

  • 1:15 PM – Traditional song and dance performances

  • 1:30 PM – Festivities continue with music and socializing
